A 14-year-old girl suffered from pyogenic infection following an sciatic intramuscular injection at the age of 10 months. The abscess was treated at that time and a contractured scar formed on the back. Scoliosis appeared at the age of 12 years and developed rapidly in the last 2 years.

Examination
A 6X20cm contractured scar was present on the low back. The trunk deviated to the right on standing view and curvature of the thoracolumbar spine was right-sided. The pelvis was oblique with the left side higher than the right. The length of her legs was equal.
Flexibility on forward and right sided bending was limited.
